Introducing young children to the wonders of science can be both fun and educational. What You Need:
  • 5 gummy worms
  • 5 cups
  • 5 different liquids (examples: water, milk, salt water, vinegar, rubbing alcohol, black coffee, oil, or dish soap)
  • Disappearing Worms Predictions and Results page
What to Do:
Prepare the Liquids
Fill each cup with a different liquid. You can choose from a variety of options such as water, milk, salt water, vinegar, rubbing alcohol, black coffee, oil, or dish soap. 
Place the Gummy Worms
Carefully place one gummy worm in each cup, ensuring they are fully submerged in the liquid.
Predictions
Fill out the Disappearing Worms Predictions and Results page. 
Observation Time
Now comes the exciting part! Leave the cups undisturbed for about an hour and observe what happens to the gummy worms.
Results
Explore the changes in texture, color, and size of the gummy worms.  Fill out the Disappearing Worms Predictions and Results page.
