Maybe you just heard about learning styles or maybe your child isn’t loving homeschooling.

Either way, you have come to the right place!

Learning your child’s learning style is going to make a HUGE difference in your homeschool journey!

So, why is it so important to know your child’s learning style?

For one, when you are teaching your child based on his or her learning style, learning time will be so much more fun for them.

Knowing your child’s learning style will help your child understand what they are learning.  If your child can’t make sense of what he or she is learning and isn’t able to explain it back to you, then they aren’t fully comprehending what they are learning.

Don’t stress, as a parent, it is easier for you than anyone in the whole world to know what learning style your child gravitates towards.  This may require you, the parent, to be more open minded and “deschool” yourself.
Deschooling is throwing away the idea of what you think school is and rebuilding "school" according to what your child needs.

Unfortunately, it is hard for public school teachers practice the various learning methods because there are too many kids in a classroom.  I remember all through school seeing the hyper kids being called “bad”.  Homeschool parents can look at this behavior and change their school day up to fit their child’s personality/needs.

This isn’t to say that this is the case for all kids but the reality of it is, for most of us, is that we all have different personalities and different learning styles and we just can’t accommodate each child’s needs in public school.

Because public schools have one curriculum for the entire class and have little room to accommodate each individual child, kids often feel a low self esteem because they are comparing themselves to other kids.

Can I just stop for a second and say, your child is so lucky to have you as a mama!
You are here, trying to figure this homeschooling thing out, doing everything you can to make this an amazing experience for your child and honestly, that makes me so happy!  **virtual hug**

Okay, back to it...

You may see many different learning styles out there but I like to stick to the basics and stick with the VARK learning styles.

For more information on VARK, check out my blog post:  VARK LEARNING STYLES FOR PRESCHOOLERS

Keep in mind that your child may gravitate towards one learning style but utilize various learning styles at different times.

Lastly, knowing your child’s learning style will save you a ton of money on curriculum!

This is why I love the idea of starting with preschool.  It helps you figure it all out before fully jumping it.
