If your kids love ice cream then you are going to love these Valentine’s Day treats!
My kids love ice cream so much. They would eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I would let them.
Last Christmas, they were gifted popsicle molds. The kids pulled them out and wanted to make them but I didn't really have any ingredients that I thought would make ice cream and they needed to be yummy otherwise… you know what happens… they go in the trash.
This is when I came up with the brilliant idea to make a protein shake, minus the ice and add it to the mold.
Now the kids could have as many ice creams as they wanted! AND there are so many protein shake recipes.
We have made chocolate, vanilla, berry... We were playing around adding different things.

I love the Minimalist Baker. I have never made one recipe from her that I didn’t like. She is my go-to girl for recipes.
You can (and should) eat these all year long but I thought it would be so fun to make heart pops to go with Valentine’s Day! Plus, just for the fact that they were heart-shaped, the kids liked them more.

All you have to do is:
- Get a silicone heart mold (or whatever mold you like)
- Add your smoothie recipe
- Add popsicle sticks, as shown
- Put in freezer until frozen
- ENJOY!!
My kids loved helping me make these! This is a really fun way to get the kids to learn how to use kitchen tools too.
And BONUS, it teaches them some science and patience while they wait for their smoothie pops to freeze!
