When the leaves begin to change color and the weather gets cooler, you know it’s time to do some Fall learning! Preschoolers are at the perfect age to learn about the changing seasons and all of the fun that comes with it.

Here are some tips on how to make learning about Fall fun for your little ones.

1. Go on a nature walk and collect leaves. You can use these leaves to make collages, pressed leaf art, or leaf rubbings. This is a great way for your child to get some fresh air and explore the world around them.

2. Make homemade applesauce or apple cider. This is a great way to introduce your child to cooking and they will love tasting their homemade creation!

You can also put an even layer of apple sauce on a plate, show your child a flash card and have your child use their finger to trace the letter, number or shape.

3. Read Fall-themed books. There are so many great books about pumpkins, leaves, and harvest time. This is a great way to bond with your child and introduce them to new vocabulary words.

4. Have a picnic lunch outside. Enjoying some time in nature is the perfect way to relax and unwind with your little ones.  It's also a great time to have some wonderful conversations.

5. Make pumpkin seeds. This is a fun and easy activity that your child will enjoy. They can help you clean out the pumpkin and then roast the seeds in the oven.  Bonus: Have a conversation about healthy eating.

6. Visit a farm or go apple picking. This is a great way for your child to see where food comes from and how it grows. It's also a lot of fun!

7. Make Thanksgiving crafts together. Get into the holiday spirit by making turkey handprints or construction paper Pilgrim hats together. These crafts are sure to get your child excited for Thanksgiving!

8. Have a pumpkin carving party! Invite some friends over and have some fun carving pumpkins together. This is a great activity for older preschoolers who are able to help with the carving process.  Otherwise, painting pumpkins is just as fun for the little ones.

9. Go on a hayride or visit a corn maze! These are both great ways to get outdoors and have some fall fun together as a family.

10. Make Fall-themed snacks or meals together such as pumpkin bread, roasted sweet potatoes, or acorn squash soup! These are all delicious recipes that your whole family will enjoy eating throughout the Fall season!
