Thinking about homeschooling your preschooler, but worried about the cost? Well, you're in luck! This blog post will give you some tips and tricks for saving money on homeschool preschool costs.

FIRST
The first thing to consider is that you do not need to go out and purchase a bunch of expensive materials.  Many of the things you need can be found around your house.

PLAN AHEAD
Take advantage of sales and discounts by planning your homeschool curriculum purchases ahead of time. You can also find used resources at garage sales, thrift stores, or online.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
There are a lot of ways to get creative without breaking the bank. For example, you can turn everyday household items into learning materials or teach your child through everyday activities and experiences.

JOIN A CO-OP
A homeschool co-op is a group of families who pool their resources together in order to provide educational opportunities for their children. This can be a great way to save money because you can split the cost of materials and field trips with other families.

Another great community is Wild+Free.

COMMUNITY
Save money by taking advantage of programs offered by your local community.  These programs provide an excellent opportunity for socialization and enrichment without breaking the bank.

CHARTER SCHOOLS
If your child qualifies to join a charter school for TK, they can get money from the school to pay for curriculum, supplies, classes, and sports.

*If a curriculum or program isn't on the vendor list, I'm sure your school would be happy to add them.  All you have to do is ask.

KEEP IN MIND
Finally, keep in mind the quality of education your child is receiving from you.  When you homeschool, you have the flexibility to tailor your child's education to their specific needs and interests. Public schools simply cannot offer this same level of customization and the price you would pay for that type of specialized education would far exceed the amount you will ever pay when homeschooling.

Homeschooling a preschooler doesn't have to be expensive! By using free or low-cost resources, planning ahead, and thinking outside the box, you can save money while still providing your child with a high-quality education.
