Summer is the time for memories! With school out and the sun shining, families have more opportunities than ever to create connections outside of their routines. Here are twenty-two must-do activities that'll create unforgettable memories.
- Go to the beach! Run from the waves, build sand castles, and find sea creatures in the tide pools.
- Go camping! Help build your tent, go for a hike, build a campfire, and make s'mores.
- Go hiking! Check out different trails and go on a nature scavenger hunt.
- Have a picnic and enjoy nature while munching on delicious homemade treats.
- Go to the zoo and meet some fascinating creatures from around the world.
- Go to an amusement park and ride on the wildest rides.
- Visit a farm and meet some cows, horses, and pigs. Check to see if there is a farm sanctuary by you. Farm sanctuaries give you a more up close and personal experience. Some farms have gardens and they may even let you pick some fruits and veggies.
- Go swimming or have a pool party! Make sure to wear sunscreen and always be safe around water!
- Visit your local splash pad.
- Play in the sprinklers and have a splash-tastic time with your best buddies.
- Visit a water park.
- Make homemade ice cream. Get creative and add different fruits, syrups, and candies.
- Have a water balloon fight.
- Build a fort and create a cozy clubhouse.
- Play in the mud! Make a mud kitchen and make cupcakes and pies.
- Visit an indoor playground and let out some energy.
- Fly a kite.
- Plant a garden and grow your own fruits and vegetables.
- Go stargazing.
- Stay up late watching movies or playing games.
- Find activities through your city or library.
- Go to the movies. Check to see if your theatre has summer discount days.
So get out there and make some incredible memories. Visit the beach, take a hike, or try something new! Just don't forget the sunscreen!
