As a mother of two preschoolers, I'm always looking for fun and educational products to keep them entertained. One of my favorite products is actually a random gift my kids got from their grandparents - watercolor pencils.
In this blog post, I'll be sharing why I love watercolor pencils and how we use them.
Endless Creativity
One of the main reasons I love watercolor pencils is because they allow for endless creativity. My kids love to draw and color so, any time we find a new product to try, they are all about it! With watercolor pencils, they can draw and color just like they would with regular pencils, but then they can add water to create a whole new effect. It's like having two products in one!
Mess-Free Fun
As any parent knows, messes are a part of life with young children. However, with watercolor pencils, the mess is minimal. There's no need for messy paints or brushes, and the water stays contained in a small cup or bowl. I love that my kids can enjoy the fun of painting without me having to worry about the mess.
Educational Benefits
Watercolor pencils offer a lot of educational benefits for preschool-aged children. Not only does it encourage creativity, but it also helps to develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. It's also a great opportunity to teach them about color mixing and blending, which are important skills for any young artist.
Beyond the Paper
Another fun way we like to use these pencils is to face paint. We'll draw circles and shapes on our hands and mix colors to create cool designs. It's a great way for kids to explore their imaginations and get creative.
This Halloween I used them to paint my son's face. I love them because they aren't greasy like the typical Halloween face paints and the pencils wash off really easily!
