I LOVE these Melissa and Doug water coloring books.
Honestly, I've tried other water coloring books and I wasn't a fan. And although I love Melissa and Doug because all of their products are so unique and high quality, I wouldn't have bought this if I saw it at the store because the other water coloring books were so bad!
The first thing I love right off the bat is that there’s a pouch for the water pen. How often do you love parts of toys?!? ALL THE TIME!
Next, I love that my kids don’t have to dip the brush in water! My kids are younger so eliminating this step made them love this and made it not feel like work by confusing them... even though challenges are good for them! But sometimes a kid just wants to have some fun!!
And one more thing about the pen, you don’t have to squeeze it for the water to come out. I thought that was awesome because then my kids didn't have to figure out how hard to squeeze it. That always ends up bad... either they don't get enough water and they end up hating the toy because nothing is happening or they get too much and it's a mess and ruins the experience.
The pen right off the bat made this product awesome!
On to the coloring...
Every page has a list of items for you to find. So as you are coloring, you are looking for these items. This helps with counting and is just an overall great brain exercise for kids!
Then after you color your picture, in about 5 ish minutes, it dries and the color goes away. Then you can color them again later.
Usually my kids won’t sit long enough to color one page with real paint, they end up painting themselves rather than the paper. But they love these. My daughter will color the whole book, which, like I said, is rare with anything else.
This product is great and totally changed the water coloring book game! Melissa and Doug, you have done it again!
