Are you looking for a fun and interactive way to introduce math to your children?  This easy and engaging activity is perfect for young learners and offers a range of benefits beyond just counting. In this blog post, we’ll explore how to make your own bubbles and how to use them to make counting fun.

The bubbles
If you want to make your own bubble solution, check out my DIY Bubble Solution.

If you aren't into DIYs, you can buy any bubble solution you'd like.

Making Bubbles
Once your bubble solution is ready, it’s time to start blowing some bubbles! Simply pour a small amount of the solution onto a plate or shallow bowl, and use a straw to blow bubbles onto the surface. You should be able to create a variety of different-sized bubbles this way.

Counting and Popping
Of course, the real fun comes from counting and popping your bubbles! Encourage your child to pop each bubble one by one while counting out loud.  This helps reinforce the concept of counting and number recognition. You can also get creative with this activity by asking your child to try and pop a certain number of bubbles in a row or setting up a timer to see how many bubbles they can pop in a certain amount of time.

Other Ideas
Another idea is to have your child count the number of bubbles you blow into the air or how many of your bubbles they pop.

You can even make a game out of it if you have two children. Who can pop the most bubbles?

Bubble Benefits
While blowing bubbles and counting may seem like a purely fun activity, the truth is it offers a range of benefits to young learners. For one, blowing bubbles is great for developing fine motor skills, as it requires children to use their lips, mouth, and hands in coordination to create and pop the bubbles. Additionally, this activity helps reinforce early math concepts, such as counting. Finally, blowing bubbles is simply a stress-relieving and fun activity for children of all ages – who doesn’t love the feeling of popping a bubble?

So, next time you're blowing bubbles with your little ones, don't forget to sneak in some counting practice!
