Remember those long summer days when you ran outside with your friends and chased after bubbles? There’s something about those simple little balls of soap that can bring back nostalgic memories. And now, it’s time to make some new bubble memories with your little ones! You don’t have to go out and buy bubbles, though. Making your own DIY bubbles at home is super easy and fun. Here’s how:

What you need:
  • Container or bowl
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of dish soap.  I like Dawn original.
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • OPTIONAL:
    • Add in a touch of corn syrup as well. This will give your bubbles a thicker texture and make them even more durable.
    • For those looking to add some colorful flare, experiment with food coloring to make some vibrant and fun bubble mixtures.
    • And for the best bubbles, use distilled water instead of tap water.

Mix Your Ingredients
In a bowl, mix the ingredients slowly so the mixture doesn’t foam.

Customize Your Bubbles
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can customize your bubbles by adding food coloring or scents. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oils, such as lavender or peppermint, to add a unique scent to your bubbles. Or you can add food coloring to make your bubbles a fun color that everyone can enjoy. Just remember to test the color on a small portion of your clothes or skin before you start blowing colored bubbles.

Make Your Bubble Wand
Now that your bubble solution is ready, it’s time to make your bubble wand. You can make a bubble wand using a pipe cleaner. To make a wand using a pipe cleaner, simply twist it into a shape that resembles a hook and form it into a bubble wand shape. Dip the wand into the bubble solution and blow.

Have Fun with Your Bubbles!
Now that your bubble solution and wand are ready, it’s time to have some fun! You can make different-sized bubbles by adjusting how fast or slow you blow, or by manipulating the wand.  You can also experiment with different shapes or see who can blow the most bubbles at once.

The possibilities are endless. Just enjoy yourselves and create some happy memories with your friends and family.
