What better way to celebrate National Hamburger Day than by engaging in a fun-filled activity of building your very own burger masterpiece?! The Build-a-Burger activity offers burger enthusiasts an exciting opportunity to construct burgers using sequence cards.

National Hamburger Day is celebrated annually on May 28th. This day is dedicated to honoring one of America's favorite fast foods. The origins of the hamburger can be traced back to the late 19th century when German immigrants brought the concept of the 'Hamburg steak' to the United States. However, it wasn't until the early 20th century that the hamburger became a staple in American cuisine.

Today, the hamburger is one of the most popular and iconic foods in American culture. It consists of a ground beef patty, often grilled or fried, served with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and various condiments such as ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. However, the burger has evolved over the years with a variety of meat alternatives, including veggie burgers and turkey burgers, as well as creative and unique toppings such as avocado, bacon, and fried eggs.

National Hamburger Day is celebrated across the country with special deals and discounts at fast-food restaurants, as well as cooking with friends and family to grill up their favorite burgers. It is a day to celebrate the delicious simplicity of a burger and the joy it brings to millions of Americans.

The activity involves laying out a set of sequence cards that depict a variety of burger ingredients, including the bun, patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and condiments.  Your child is given a set of ingredients that they use to assemble their burger in the order indicated on the cards.

One exciting feature of this activity is the ability to customize your burger to your unique taste and preference and add or remove toppings such as cheese or onions to suit your preferences.
