Here is a unique little twist on learning.  The Find it in the Water activity will help your preschooler learn about the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and sight words.

WHAT YOU NEED:
Start by filling the glass dish with water. Add food coloring until the water is hard to see through.
Next, write letters, numbers, shapes, or sight words randomly on the white paper in black marker.
Put the paper in a Ziploc to keep the paper from getting wet.  You can put the paper in a page protector or laminate it to prevent water from getting on it. Place the dish on top of the paper.  Next, set a glass cup in the water. Slide the cup around to reveal the letters on the paper.  Your child's task is to identify what they see as it is revealed.

Don't forget to talk about what you see, in more depth.

Aside from teaching the ABCs and the 123s, this activity also helps develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. As your child slides the cup around the dish, they are practicing their hand-eye coordination. Additionally, the act of grasping and moving the cup helps improve their fine motor skills.

Try this activity with your little one today and watch them learn and have fun at the same time!

This is one of the activities from my activity book: Pre-K The Fun Way
The book contains many fun and engaging activities that help your child learn while having fun.
