How does this activity benefit preschoolers?
Making snowflakes can benefit preschoolers in many ways.
  • It can help improve their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity.
  • By drawing and cutting out different shapes, preschoolers are learning to control their hand movements better.
  • As they are placing tape on the paper and using cotton balls to make it look like snow, they are working on their hand-eye coordination.

Option 1:
On the blue paper, draw a snowflake with the crayon. Keep in mind that no two snowflakes are the same!
Lay the double-sided tape over the crayon lines.

Option 2:
On the non-sticky side of the sticker paper, draw a snowflake with the permanent marker. Get as creative as you want!
Peel off the paper from the sticker paper.
Tap a cotton ball on the snowflake lines to make the snowflake come to life. Make sure to cover the entire snowflake shape with the cotton balls.
Add a blue paper behind the snowflake to make it easier to see.
