Winter weather can be a magical thing, especially when it comes to crafting with preschoolers.  One fun winter activity that we love is making snowflake crafts. This fun and easy craft is a great way to introduce preschoolers to the winter season while also benefiting them in different ways.



How does this activity benefit preschoolers?
Making snowflakes can benefit preschoolers in many ways. 
  • It can help improve their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity. 
  • By drawing and cutting out different shapes, preschoolers are learning to control their hand movements better. 
  • As they are placing tape on the paper and using cotton balls to make it look like snow, they are working on their hand-eye coordination. 
  • By making snowflakes, preschoolers are flexing their creative muscles and learning about different shapes and patterns.
WHAT YOU NEED:

WHAT TO DO:
Option 1:
On the blue paper, draw a snowflake with the crayon. Keep in mind that no two snowflakes are the same!
Lay the double-sided tape over the crayon lines.
Tap a cotton ball on the double-sided tape to make the snowflake come to life.

Option 2:
On the non-sticky side of the sticker paper, draw a snowflake with the permanent marker. Get as creative as you want!
Peel off the paper from the sticker paper.
Tap a cotton ball on the snowflake lines to make the snowflake come to life. Make sure to cover the entire snowflake shape with the cotton balls.
Add a blue paper behind the snowflake to make it easier to see.



Creating snowflakes with preschoolers is an easy and fun activity for the winter season. This craft not only helps improve their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity, but it also makes for a great decoration to display during the wintertime. With endless possibilities for designs, let your preschooler's imagination run wild and enjoy the magic of winter together.
